Elisabeth Moss is famously tight-lipped, but she once said, “I think there’s more story to tell.” Director and EP Mike Barker has called the potential for a seventh season “electrifying.” Even the actress who plays Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) has joked that she’s ready to “stay in that ugly hat forever.” That’s a good sign. When the villains want to keep going, you know the show has legs.

And let’s be real—the fanbase is rabid. We’ve bought the mugs, we’ve rewatched the scenes where June seethes at Serena, and we’ve probably yelled “Nolite te bastardes carborundorum” into a pillow. That passion matters. Networks pay attention when a show’s hashtags trend. So, keep making noise, folks.
So, When Will We Know for Sure?
Probably by mid-2026, after Season 6 airs. Hulu loves to announce renewals right before or after a season premiere, to keep us hooked. If Season 6 ends on a cliffhanger (and knowing this show, it will), expect an official “YES” soon after. If it wraps up too neatly, well… it might be the end. But I doubt it. This story isn’t done. Gilead is still standing, and June still has that fire in her eyes.
For now, take a breath. Rewatch the best episodes. Argue with your friends about whether Serena is redeemable. (She is not, but that’s a chat for another day.) And remember: in the world of streaming, nothing is ever truly over until the credits roll on the very last season. Season 7? It’s not a sure thing— but it’s a beautiful, terrifying, thrilling possibility. And honestly, don’t we all deserve one more ride through Gilead? Even if it makes us scream?
