Most likely, both sides will yell a lot. Then someone in a fancy suit will suggest a compromise. The drivers will get slightly better conditions. TfL will say they’ve “listened.” Everyone will go back to work, and life will resume.
Until the next round of cuts, of course. That’s the cycle. Like the weather, but with more fluorescent vests and chants.
For now, if you see a striking driver holding a sign, don’t honk at them. Just offer a sympathetic “hang in there.” Or a coffee. They probably haven’t slept well lately. And honestly, who among us hasn’t?
Stay patient, London. The trains will roll again. And maybe—just maybe—they’ll be a little safer when they do.
