If you have kids, you’ll love this. There’s a wooden castle, a slide, and a swing set that looks like it was built by vengeful Vikings. It’s sturdy. Surprising fact: the climbing frame is made from sustainable timber, but it’s positioned so that at sunset, it looks like a miniature fortress from Game of Thrones. The kids love it; the parents love that it tires them out.
There’s also a small dog walking area. The dogs look smug. They know they’ve got the best deal: walks, treats, and constant attention from every retiree on the site.

A Note on the Weather
It rained for three hours on day two. Did I panic? No. I had my awning, a flask of soup, and a good book from the reception’s little library. Plus, the rain just made the grass look more green. Like a filtered Instagram photo, but real. The British dream.
