A standard tub is usually around 60 inches long and 30-32 inches wide. For this size tub, a shower curtain that's around 70-72 inches long and 70-72 inches wide is usually the way to go. This size allows for a bit of extra material to wrap around the tub, while also keeping water from escaping.
Think of it like buying a pair of jeans - you want them to fit comfortably, not too tight or too loose. A shower curtain that's the right size is like a pair of well-fitting jeans, it just feels right. And, just like how you want your jeans to be durable and long-lasting, a good shower curtain should be able to withstand the water and humidity of the shower.
Now, you might be wondering, what about non-standard tubs? Well, if you have a tub that's larger or smaller than average, you'll want to adjust the shower curtain size accordingly. It's like trying to find a dress that fits just right - you might need to try a few different sizes before you find the one that's perfect.
