The Imagination Library was born in 1995, when Dolly decided to start a book giveaway program for children in her hometown of Sevier County, Tennessee. She wanted to give back to her community and create a love for reading that would last a lifetime. Well, it's pretty simple: every month, the Imagination Library sends a brand new, age-appropriate book to enrolled children, from the time they're born until they start kindergarten. That's 60 books per child, folks - a whole library of wonder and excitement! And the best part? It's all completely free for the families, thanks to Dolly's generosity and the support of local communities.
