First up: T’Nia Miller. She was terrifyingly cool in Years and Years. Imagine her with a sonic screwdriver and a sarcastic quip. I’d watch that in a heartbeat.
Then there’s Jonathan Bailey. He’s got the charm of a young David Tennant. He could make the Doctor both flirty and furious. Who wouldn’t want that energy?
And don’t sleep on Lydia West. She’s got that “I’ve seen the universe and I’m mildly annoyed” look. Perfect for a Doctor who’s tired of explaining paradoxes to humans.
But What About the Dark Horses?
What if they go weird? Like, really weird. I’m talking Matt Berry as the Doctor. Picture him shouting “FAAAAATH” while running from Daleks. It would be chaos. Magnificent, glorious chaos.
Or Olivia Colman. She could play the Doctor as a tired mum who just wants a cuppa. But then she’d save the universe with a withering stare and a wet wipe. Iconic.
And here’s a curveball: Idris Elba. He’s already got the imposing presence. But could he do the silly bits? The spoon-playing? The running in circles? I’d pay to find out.
