Oh, absolutely. In Scotland and Northern Ireland, they’re called B & M Bargains. Same shop. Slightly more aggressive name. Like it’s daring you to find a better deal.
And if you see one with a big “Home” sign attached? That’s B & M’s grown-up sibling. Same DNA, but it sells candles and cushions to make your living room look less like a student flat.

But at its heart, every single one is still Billington & Mayman. Two blokes from Blackpool who probably never imagined their names would be on a billion plastic storage boxes.
What Does It Not Stand For?
Let’s clear up a few myths, shall we? It is not “Biscuits and Milk,” though you can buy both there. It is not “Bargains and More,” even though that’s literally what they sell.
It’s also not “Boring & Mundane.” Have you seen the middle aisle? That’s a treasure trove of tiny angle grinders and inflatable kayaks. Mundane is not in B & M’s vocabulary.
And for the love of all that is holy, it is not “Badly Made.” Sure, that £3 lamp might flicker. But the name has nothing to do with product quality—that’s just the luck of the draw.
