Let’s give a round of applause for the pharmacies. While the department stores are having a tug-of-war over the last half-price air fryer, your local Boots or Superdrug is quietly open from 10 AM to 4 PM. They’re the unsung heroes of Boxing Day, selling you ibuprofen and indigestion tablets when you’ve overdone it on the cheese board. God bless them, seriously.
The Online Escape Plan
Feeling overwhelmed by the thought of parking lots and crowds? Same. Here’s the best little secret: many shops start their online Boxing Day sales at midnight on Christmas Day. You can grab a new laptop while wearing your pajamas and holding a cold slice of Christmas cake. The trick is to check the websites of places like Amazon, Argos, or Next before you even brush your teeth. Just be ready for the inevitable “page not loading” panic when 10,000 other shoppers have the same idea. That’s part of the adventure, right?
