You probably know Joe best from two places: Walford and the jungle. He played Mickey Miller on EastEnders for years—a role that gave him a steady, reliable paycheck. Think of it like having a good, solid job at a bakery. You know the dough (pun intended) is coming in, even if it’s not flashy.
Then came I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2008. Winning that show was his golden ticket. It’s like winning the office raffle, but instead of a hamper, you get a TV career. Suddenly, he was a household name, and those names come with nicer price tags for appearances and presenting gigs.
The Lovely Life of a TV Presenter
After the jungle, Joe became a go-to presenter. He hosted the I’m a Celebrity spin-off shows for years. That’s a regular gig, like a part-time job that pays for your car and your holidays. He also filled in on This Morning and Lorraine, which probably felt like getting paid to hang out with your mates in a nice, warm studio.
Don’t forget those panel shows. Popping up on Loose Women or The Chase: Celebrity Special isn’t just for fun—those appearances add up. Think of it as picking up extra shifts. Each one is a little envelope of cash that goes straight into the “family fun fund.” It’s the financial equivalent of finding a £20 note in an old coat pocket.
