This is the part everyone skips. Don’t skip it. Open a window. Turn on a fan. Let the couch air dry for at least 2–3 hours. Sitting on a damp sofa feels like sitting on a wet cat. Not fun.
If you’re impatient (I see you), point a hairdryer on cool at the damp spots. You’re helping the fabric keep its shape. Wet fabric stretches. Dry fabric stays tight.
Finally, fluff your cushions. Beat them a little. They deserve it after all that abuse. Put them back. Step back. Admire your work.
Now, look at that gorgeous, clean couch. Doesn’t it look like it just came from the spa? You did that. With dish soap, baking soda, and sheer willpower. You’re basically a sofa whisperer.
Go ahead. Sit down. Maybe don’t eat a bag of chips on it just yet. Give it a day. But you? You’re ready for anything now. Even a red wine spill. Almost ready.
