He became a MacGuffin—a thing everyone wants but nobody fully understands. His story is a perfect example of Lost’s biggest flaw: building a mystery and forgetting to solve it.
In the end, Walt is just a guy who survived the crash, had weird powers, got rescued, and then… existed. He’s a poster child for the show’s unrealized potential. And that’s okay. Some mysteries are best left to fan forums and late-night arguments over whiskey.
But hey, at least he didn’t get turned into a smoke monster. Right?
