Here’s where the relatable life-hack comes in. The BBC releases tickets in batches, usually about a month before each live show. Imagine trying to get a last-minute cancellation spot at your favourite pizza place—that’s the energy you need. You have to be fast.
Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour 2026 announced with Shirley Ballas
My mate Dave missed out last year because he was “just finishing an episode of Bake Off.” By the time he refreshed the page, all the tickets had been snapped up by people who were already logged in and ready to click. Don’t be Dave. Set up an account on the BBC website now, even before the 2026 series is announced. That way, you’re not fumbling for passwords while the tickets vanish like a salsa dancer’s dignity after a misstep.
The Waiting Game (and How to Win It)
Okay, so you’ve registered, you’re logged in, and you’re waiting. This is the emotional rollercoaster part. You might get an email saying you’ve got tickets. You might get a “sorry, better luck next time” email. It feels like waiting for a text back from someone you really like—except the text is from Claudia Winkleman, so it’s way more exciting.
Don’t give up. People cancel. People move. There are standby tickets released on the day of the show. If you live near Elstree Studios, you can literally turn up and hope. It’s a gamble, sure, but sometimes the best things in life come from showing up with a smile and a flask of tea. My cousin Lucy did this last year, and she ended up sitting next to a man who used to be Anton Du Beke’s barber. Fate works in mysterious ways.
