Believe it or not, the Sorting Hat had a human voice, and it was Veronica Clifford—a classically trained opera singer. She died in 2019, but her voice still belts out “Gryffindor!” in our heads whenever we see a knitted cap. She also sang with the Royal Shakespeare Company, so that hat had range.

Timothy Bateson (The Voice of Kreacher)
Timothy Bateson voiced Kreacher, the bitter house-elf who hoarded locket shrapnel and insulted everyone. He passed in 2009, but his performance was so good that you can still hear him muttering “Master has gone mad” in a dusty corner of your brain. The man made a career out of grumpy, and we salute that.
Dave Legeno (Fenrir Greyback)
And who could forget Dave Legeno, the werewolf with the worst dental hygiene in wizarding history? He died in 2014 while hiking in Death Valley—which is ironic for a guy who played a wolfman, but not the fun kind of irony. Fun fact: he was a professional boxer before acting, so if Greyback ever punched you, you’d feel it in your next life.
