After the service, you can wander into the Garden of Remembrance. It’s not a bleak concrete slab with a few wilted flowers. It’s a proper, lush garden with winding paths, benches tucked away, and a peaceful water feature.
Some people leave little trinkets—a pebble, a seashell, a plastic dinosaur (yes, I saw one once). It’s like a secret museum of love and inside jokes. You can’t help but smile at those tiny, odd tokens.
There’s also a Book of Remembrance where you can write a message. Just be warned: bring a tissue, because reading other people’s sweet notes will hit you right in the feels. It’s worse than a Pixar movie.
