After years of traveling the globe with Valegro, Charlotte now trains horses like Imhotep at her private yard. The property features acres of manicured paddocks, an indoor school for rainy Monday sessions, and a stable block that would make any horse-lover weep with joy. Think traditional Cotswold stone, warm lighting, and the smell of fresh hay.
This move from sharing yards to owning her own setup is a major power shift in her life. It gives her the freedom to train on her terms, fitting sessions around school runs and early mornings. It’s a flex that says: “I’ve earned the right to keep my coffee warm while my horse does a perfect piaffe.”
Culturally, Gloucestershire is synonymous with the rural elite, but Dujardin’s vibe here is refreshingly unpretentious. You won’t find her at swanky galas every night; you’ll find her in wellies, grabbing a bacon bap from a local farm shop after a sunrise ride.
Rural Roots & Royal Connections
Living in the Cotswolds puts Charlotte in excellent company. She’s a stone’s throw from the royal estate at Highgrove (Prince Charles’s old stomping ground) and near the legendary Badminton Horse Trials. It’s the epicenter of everything horsey in the UK.
Fun fact: Her local village pub probably has a higher ratio of Olympians to locals than any bar in London. You might see her there with a glass of crisp white wine, discussing the flying changes on her latest young horse. That is the energy of her daily life.

This location isn’t just convenient; it’s a life hack. By living in the countryside, she avoids the frantic “commute to the yard” stress that plagues city-based riders. Her commute is a two-minute walk across a dewy field—a luxury we should all be jealous of.
