The KTM 690 Enduro R has a celebrity status in the overlanding scene. It’s the bike of choice for Lyndon Poskitt and the Rally Raid project guys—the same lunatics who cross the Sahara on single cylinders. Owning one puts you in that lineage, even if you’re just riding to the farmer’s market.
It’s also a favorite among urban adventurers who want to look like they just rode out of the Dakar rally. The orange frame and angular headlight are pure KTM swagger. Park it next to a Ducati, and the Ducati looks like it needs a nap.
Fun little fact: the 690 Enduro R’s engine is so versatile that KTM uses a derived version in their 690 Duke and 701 Husqvarna models. Same heart, different clothes. You’re essentially riding the platform that powers three totally different personalities.
