Once you walk through those automatic doors, the world outside melts away. The lighting is warm, not harsh airport fluorescent. It feels like a really expensive living room that someone forgot to put a TV in. And that’s okay!
There are these cool, curved booths and single-person nooks. You can plug in your laptop and pretend you’re a secret agent on a layover. The noise cancels out. Seriously, I heard a baby crying for two seconds, and then… nothing. Magic.
The design is full of wood and soft gray fabrics. It’s giving “Scandinavian spa meets airport redemption.” I half expected someone to offer me a cucumber water—which, spoiler alert, they do have.
The Food: Not Your Average Pretzel
Let’s get to the real reason we’re here: the food. This isn’t a sad, wilted salad on a plastic tray. Oh no. Capital One has a literal chef station. You can get made-to-order bowls, tacos, or a grilled cheese that will ruin all other grilled cheeses for you.
I opted for the birria tacos. Did I expect to eat slow-cooked, dripping-with-flavor beef in a terminal? I did not. But here we are. The salsa bar had three different kinds of heat. I went for the one that made my eyes water. Worth it.
And the coffee? It’s from a local roaster, not a machine that tastes like burnt regret. You can grab a latte with cute foam art. I saw a barista make a little heart for someone. That’s the level of service we’re talking about.
