Rubbing your eyes is a reflex, but it’s a puffy one. Rubbing breaks tiny blood vessels and triggers inflammation. It’s like poking a bruise and being surprised it hurts.
Cut back on late-night alcohol. A glass of wine is fine, but three glasses? Your body will hold fluid like a dam. Your eyes will look like angry little water balloons.
And please, for the love of all things soft, sleep on your back. Side or stomach sleeping smashes your face into the pillow, causing wrinkles and fluid pooling. It’s beauty sabotage.
When To Just Let It Go
Some puffiness is just genetics. You can do everything right and still wake up looking like a bullfrog. That’s okay. It doesn’t mean you’re broken or ugly.
If the puffiness comes with redness, pain, or itching, see a doctor. Otherwise, it’s just your body being a quirky little human suit. Laugh at it.
You can cover it with concealer, or you can rock it with confidence. Either way, you’re alive, you’re trying, and that’s more than enough. Now go drink some water and thank your spoons.
