0–1 cup: “I feel nothing. Is my wine corked?” 2 cups: “I am a brilliant conversationalist. Did I mention I love you?” 3 cups: “Laughter. Lots of it. Also, I’ve lost my phone in my hand.”

4 cups: “I’m dancing. Why is the floor tilting?” 5+ cups: “I’m now a professional philosopher who loves everyone. Please call me a cab. Or a hero.”
The sweet spot for most people is between cup two and three. That’s when the wine is a joy and not a challenge to your balance.
But Seriously, Don’t Be That Person
Getting drunk isn’t a race. It’s a journey of good conversation and questionable dance moves. The goal is happy, buzzed you—not the version who wakes up with a headache and a missing shoe. Know your limit, and drink a glass of water for every glass of wine. Your future self will high-five you.
Also, wine gives you permission to be silly, but it’s still a grown-up drink. Nobody likes the guest who tries to reenact a spaghetti scene from “Lady and the Tramp” with the host.
