Here’s where it gets funny. The new HBO series hasn’t even been filmed yet. It’s coming, but right now, Voldemort is just a rumor. We know it’s a faithful reboot of the books, so He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named will definitely show up in flashbacks or as a young Tom Riddle.
But the real twist? The series might explore his past more deeply. We might see baby Tom at the orphanage. We might see him crying over a bully’s bunny rabbit—and then cursing it. Gulp.
So, in the new Harry Potter, Voldemort is both a memory and a future threat. He’s the ghost at the feast, the name no one says, and the reason Harry still has a lightning bolt-shaped headache.
But Let’s Be Real: We Miss the Snake
Look, we all love a good villain. Lord Voldemort was iconic. He had the creepy whispers, the pet snake, and the world’s worst skincare routine. Without him, the new story feels a bit like pizza without cheese.
That’s why the creators had to bring his daughter in. She’s a “Voldemort Lite”—same terrible ideology, but with better eyeliner. She even says things like, “I am the Dark Lord’s heir!” which is basically the wizarding world version of “My dad could beat up your dad.”
First Look: New 'Harry Potter' Remake Shows Never-Before-Seen Voldemort
And honestly? It works. Because the real question isn’t “Who is Voldemort?” It’s “What does he leave behind?” And that answer is: fear, trauma, and a very angry teenage girl with a Time-Turner.
