On Labor Day 2026, the mail is officially a no-show. Treat it like a snow day, but with sun and a grill. Don’t expect delivery. Don’t shake your fist at the sky. Just let it happen.
And if you really, truly, absolutely need to send something? Use a carrier pigeon. Or, you know, wait until Tuesday. Your choice.
So go ahead—unplug from the mailbox. Put your feet up. Labor Day is about resting from work, and checking the mail is technically work. Plus, that package you ordered will be even more exciting when it finally shows up on September 2nd. Anticipation is half the fun. Or, at least, that’s what I tell myself as I refresh the tracking page for the seventh time.
Enjoy your holiday. And if you see a mail carrier at the grocery store? Give them a nod. They’re on break, too. Just like your bills.
