So, next Saturday, skip the big-box hardware store with its grey concrete floor and glaring lights. Drive to Highfield Garden World near Gloucester. It’s easy to find, and the car park is surprisingly spacious—even on a sunny Sunday.
Bring a friend, or bring your own curiosity. You don’t need a list. Let the place surprise you. Maybe you’ll leave with basil for your pasta. Maybe you’ll leave with a full patio set. Either way, you’ll leave lighter.
Because sometimes, the best thing you can do for a tough week is buy a terracotta pot, a bag of soil, and the hope that something small will grow. Highfield gives you that hope—and a very good cappuccino to wash it down.
