Halloween is fast approaching so we grown-ups (who are more like kids when it comes to this holiday, if we’re honest) are hard at work creating our costumes, planning our parties, and getting excited about both tricks and treats. Halloween has to be one of the best holidays for both kids and candy-lovin’ parents. Jerry Seinfeld says, “So the first time you hear the concept of Halloween when you’re a kid your brain can’t even process the information. You’re like: ‘What is this? What did you say?’ ‘What did you say about giving out candy? Who’s giving out candy?’ ‘Everyone that we know is just giving out candy!’” And it’s true, it’s amazing, but it’s great for the other stuff (meaning, not candy), too.
Halloween crafts in particular are awesome because they are a fun activity for the kids, and can double as their costume or as the treats and decorations you set out at your next party or around your front door. Now, we’re betting you’ve got the candy thing down to a science, so to help you in the craft department, here are 18 ghoulish Halloween craft ideas to get everyone howling…or just happy, that’s fine too.
1. Easy Jack-O-Lanterns
Whether it’s for your front stoop, the living room window or your kitchen table, a no muss no full super simple jack-o-lantern is the way to go. With some craft paint, cover the outside of your pumpkin with something artistic or a traditional jack-o-lantern face. The kids love this one because they get to be way more involved than if you were carving your gourds and you’ll love it because you don’t have to deal with slimy pumpkin goo.
