5. Leave out the boring parts.
We’ve all done it before, scanned a paragraph when we want the story to move faster; basically editing out the boring parts. Pick up the pace to ensure you don’t lose your reader’s interest.

Think about what your characters say and the words they would use. Define each character and let their voice be unique.
