We’re all guilty of it—slipping table scraps and unsavory leftovers to the dog after we’re done with our meal. You know you do it to from time to time, too, even if you’re adamant with your kids about not sharing food with the dog. You may think you’re giving your dog a treat by sharing the end of your ice cream cone or giving him the fat off the side of your steak, but you must be careful because some common foods that are great for people are not so great for dogs. 1. Grapes or Raisins
These fall on the floor at our houses all the time but it’s important to snatch them up and out of reach of your dog as quickly as possible. Consumption of even small amounts of grapes or raisins can cause kidney failure. Even dogs who have eaten this fruit before with no ill effects can suddenly have a bad reaction.
