6. Another one to get sucked into would be Pretty in Plaid by Jen Lancaster. This is actually her memoir about her adolescent years and we think it’s pretty freakin’ fabulous.
7. Looking for a little romance and maybe a good cry? The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks is the weepy classic that always calls to us.
8. Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl is a can’t-put-it-down thriller about a mysterious marriage. We’re not giving too much away but you should bring an extra bottle of sunscreen because you are not going to want to get up until you’re done with this one.

9. One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories is a collection of witty, clever short stories that cover the perils of love, social media and trying to make something of yourself. Since it’s a collection of shorter stories, this one is good for when you know the kids will be interrupting you often.
