8. Indoor Lights
Before hanging them, inspect your holiday lights to ensure wires aren’t frayed or worn and bulbs are intact. Be careful not to overload sockets and never use more than three strings of lights per extension cord. This is one of the most important holiday fire safety tips as electrical failures are a factor in two thirds of fires involving holiday lights.
