Famous grandparents are fun to watch, because unlike most celebs, their role as grandma or grandpa eclipses anything Hollywood might want from them. The prototypical grandma is frumpy, conservative and makes a mean chicken soup when she’s not offering candy. But these 15 incredible celebrity grandmothers break that stereotype and represent the glamorous and youthful side to being a grandmother in the 21st century and in the spotlight. There are plenty of hot grannies out there comfortable with being called grandma in public and other Hollywood divas, well, who aren’t.

In her memoir A Lotus Grows in the Mud, Goldie Hawn said: “My son Oliver decided I should be called ‘Glam-Ma,’ which I thought was quite brilliant and made us all laugh so hard.” The term stuck like glue in pop culture and UrbanDictionary.com, defines the term as: “If 60 is the new 40 then GlamMa is the new Grandma, a woman with a sense of self and style.” Here are 15 celebrities you probably didn’t know were also sweet grannies.

1. Raquel Welch
Not everyone knows that this gorgeous grandma’s real name was Jo Raquel Tejada. As Latina tells it, she’s joining the likes of Kristen Bell and Rob Lowe on the upcoming Lionsgate show, How to Be a Latin Lover.
