This does not have to be difficult, ladies. There are key pieces in every woman’s closet that can transition from season to season. Spring is especially easy because of the milder temperatures. Just like Goldilocks’ porridge, it’s not too hot, and it’s not too cold. It’s just right.

Fall and winter pieces with which to create easy, breezy spring outfits include: scarves, dark denim, tights, cardigans, boots, blazers, and sweaters. Instead of pushing them to the back of the closet, get adventurous and creative. Here are some suggestions to help you get started.

Starting with two of the most unlikely pieces, cardigans and sweaters, these will come in handy on unseasonably cool days and nights. If you have an office job, it’s the perfect setting, as most buildings seem to set their air conditioning thermostats perpetually on polar. Or grab something like this Floral Eyelet Tube Dress from Delias and this matching JCrew cardigan. These Steve Madden Pyramidd sandals complete the look. Even light sweaters, that might have previously been used for layering, can get in on some spring action.

Blazers, especially fitted ones like this ASOS Curve Exclusive Shrunken Blazer (pictured above) are another way to dress up a floral or even a maxi dress. Paying a little extra to have a blazer tailored will add shape. Please do keep the big and boxy ones in the back of the closet—or better yet, donate them to charity.

Brightly colored tights that were used to keep those legs warm, can now be worn as that needed pop of color. These TopShop tights can be worn under a printed skirt, like this TopShop Aztec Print Bodycon Skirt or even shorts. Pair something like this Madewell Runaround Tank that will complete this unexpected and daring outfit.

Never put away those scarves, especially the brightly colored ones. This is an accessory that never goes out of season. Find any number of tutorials online that will teach even the most fashionably challenged woman how to turn that scarf into a top, a head piece, a vest, or even a belt.

Boots are another item that should always be kept ready and available. From the thigh, to the knee, and even the ankle, all lengths, and colors are welcomed. Nothing is sexier than pairing them with bare legs. Be a little daring and wear a pair with that favorite miniskirt, shorts, or skinny jeans. Cowboy boots are made for walking this spring. Be on the look out!

Although some like to only wear dark denim in the fall, there’s no need to limit denim in the name of fashion. All washes can be worn in the spring. There are countless options to go along with this look. Try a printed top, like this Purple And Teal Zigzag Chiffon Off-Shoulder Top from Torrid with these wide leg jeans from Not Your Daughter’s Jeans. There are so many different styles of footwear that would go great with this outfit, so grab some sandals, ankle boots or peep-toe pumps from your closet and you’re set!

Experiment further with dark colors, such as black (always in season), chocolate browns, and burgundy. Don’t be afraid to show spring a thing or two.
