According to Dr. Grant Brinkworth, PhD, in an article for Health.com, “carbs boost mood-regulating, stress-reducing chemicals in the brain, and high-protein, fatty foods may deplete them.” In other words, carbs make people feel good, so cutting them out completely would only leave you miserable and craving what you can’t have.
