4. Don’t force practice tests on your child.  
There is such a thing as overkill, and sometimes if you force your child to prematurely take practice exams you might discourage them rather than encourage their learning. Instead, focus on getting your child familiar with the exam questions and format, and then begin by trying out a few sample test questions at a time. And by all means, if your child does want to take practice tests (seriously?), encourage and support them.

5. Incorporate the SATs into the your everyday routine. 
Just like brushing your teeth, making your bed, eating meals and doing homework, make SAT preparation a part of your child’s daily activities. We know they don’t have endless amounts of time or energy, but try to balance a little bit of everything in their daily routine so they become accustomed to constant learning as they prepare for the SATs.
