Let’s get real: being a woman involves a lot of gross experiences. As if getting your period isn’t icky enough, there’s childbirth, UTIs and, arguably the worst of the bunch—yeast infections. If you’ve been there, you know what we’re talking about. It can be embarrassing to experience, let alone talk about. But if there is one person you should be able to open up about female health issues, it’s your Gynecologist. It’s her JOB to treat you and address your concerns. As Huff Post reports, according to Dr. Mary Jane Minkin, an OB-GYN with Yale University’s School of Medicine, opening up to your doctor is crucial in maintaining a healthy life. “I’m your doctor. That’s what I’m here for–to talk about your ovaries, about fertility and sex. That’s my job.”
