Own It
Above all, if you’re going to post a bathing suit selfie you need to really own it. As Health reports, back in 2015, mom Rachel Hollis posted a bikini photo in a viral Facebook post that had people talking, commenting and applauding her bravery. In her caption to the photo, Hollis explained, “I have stretch marks and I wear a bikini. I have a belly that’s permanently flabby from carrying three giant babies and I wear a bikini. My belly button is saggy… (which is something I didn’t even know was possible before!!) and I wear a bikini. I wear a bikini because I’m proud of this body and every mark on it…” She is the definition of owning it.

Every flaw, every imperfection, every mark that some people might be insecure about, she flaunted proudly, and we only hope to be as confident and real about our bodies this summer and every summer down the road. And if you’re going to put your bikini body out there for the world to see in a selfie, you need to be ready to adopt this same attitude and level of self-acceptance and pride.
