4. Not everybody is good. In Les Misérables, people commit despicable acts against the poor and the weak, taking horrible advantage of them. This still happens. Those in dire circumstances may fall prey to false promises and are manipulated and tricked into being trapped in even worse circumstances. For example, selling an individual or family a house that they really can’t afford. Of course, we still have to believe in people, but make sure they are the right people to trust.
