Most adults know exactly where they were when the attacks on September 11 occurred. It’s been nearly 15 years and our nation is still healing and those memories remain clear. While the September 11 memorials open at the site of the World Trade Towers, the Pentagon and the open fields of Somerset, PA, we still carry the horror and fear of that day.
As Deepak Chopra so inspirationally puts it, “For me and my family personally, September 11 was a reminder that life is fleeting, impermanent, and uncertain. Therefore, we must make use of every moment and nurture it with affection, tenderness, beauty, creativity, and laughter.” For those directly affected by the events of that day, the families of passengers and office workers and first responders, it takes courage to live every day. While some seek healing through religion or memorials, others find reading about the events of that day therapeutic.
