The awards season fashion extravaganza has officially begun and for the style obsessed, 70th annual Golden Globes red carpet did not disappoint. From ingénues to seasoned stars, sartorial glitz and glamour were in full effect this year. Unfussy, naturally flowing locks, pared-down makeup, and minimal jewelry allowed the dresses—and the lovely ladies wearing them—to take center stage at Sunday’s festivities.

While enjoying this semi-annual parade of frothy, fashion decadence, we can all take inspiration from the array of stunning moms who turned it out on the red carpet. From the adorable Kristen Bell representing moms-to-be, to gorgeous Megan Fox and Claire Danes doing new moms proud, to Julianne Moore and Jennifer Lopez showing that mothers in their 40s and 50s can still outshine women half their age. Of course, we can’t forget dazzling and hilarious co-hosts (and moms) Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Here are just a few of the style highlights.

WINTER WHITE
Radiating her signature glow, Jennifer Lopez solidified her red carpet royalty status in a stunningly curve hugging, nude illusion and white lace Zuhair Murad gown.

Anne Hathaway embodied modern elegance in a simple beaded Chanel column. A fresh, youthful pixie cut and natural, dewy makeup perfected her statuesque look.

So it wasn’t quite white, but mom-to-be Kristen Bell and her baby bump were exquisite in jewel-encrusted, silver Jenny Packham. Her look was ethereal and romantic with a perfectly un-‘done’ pony and barely-there makeup.

ANYTHING BUT BASIC BLACK
Sofia Vergara usually goes for bold, vibrant color but she wowed in an intricately detailed, glittering black Michael Cinco creation. And no wardrobe malfunctions!

Eva Longoria went for high drama in black lace Emilio Pucci with a plunging back, strategic cutouts and an up-to-here slit that rivaled Angelina Jolie’s at last year’s Academy Awards.

Salma Hayek highlighted her perfect hourglass figure and wrapped it up with a bow, in a dazzling black, strapless Gucci—proving that 40’s are definitely the new 30’s.

RAVISHING RED
Jessica Alba defined effortless chic in vibrant coral Oscar de la Renta with matching tangerine lips.

It girl Jennifer Lawrence channeled old Hollywood goddess glamour accepting her award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for Silver Linings Playbook in a vibrant red Dior Haute Couture gown with an architectural bodice and a voluminous skirt.

Claire Danes took home a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series for Homeland, but she should get an award for Most Phenomenal Post-Baby Body. Only one month after giving birth, her figure was flawless in a beautifully draped Versace concoction.
