Despite being one of only a handful of artists (even fewer women artists) who found success in her lifetime, Frida never got caught up in the pursuit of fame and fortune. As she said, “I would rather sit on the floor in the market of Toluca and sell tortillas, than have anything to do with those ‘artistic’ bitches of Paris.” Never let success make you forget what’s really important to you. Fame and fortune are fleeting; Frida lives on.
