I believe that a smile and a great attitude are the best accessories. But as a busy working mami, I’m an avid user of beauty products that will make me either unwind or feel invigorated, depending on the day. At the very least, they need to help me look the part! I don’t do reviews or endorsements based on sniffing a bottle, but on putting products to the test.

Following are some of my beauty recommendations for hectic times, to combat holiday stress, and look and feel pampered year-round.

Tata Harpers Aromatic Stress Treatment ($80) is a convenient and natural aid to de-stress throughout the day. Simply roll the aromatherapy treatment over your pulse points, take five deep breaths, and keep on going. It’s not cheap, but the roller ball makes it easy to use the right amount, and the benefits of aromatherapy are long-lasting.

Gelish Basix Kit ($49.95) and LED Curing Light ($69.95) provide an alternative to costly gel manicures at the salon. Since I type a lot, I like to see my hands looking well-manicured and, because I live in Florida, open toed shoes and flip-flops are worn year round. I spent 15-20 minutes using the kit above for polished nails that are going strong two weeks later. If you can apply nail polish, you can master this gel nail kit.

100% Pure Blood Orange Body Wash and Body Cream ($30 for both) is an invigorating combo that will help you feel uplifted before or after a long day. 100% Pure products are cruelty-free and natural and this particular scent is one of the most revitalizing in their line.

It Cosmetics Airbrush Blush Stain for Cheeks ($24) by one of my go-to brands, helps counteract a sallow complexion, brought on by long days and little sleep. A little goes a long way, not to mention the anti-aging benefits and again, cruelty-free philosophy of the line.

Clinique’s High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara ($19.50) is an instant eye-opener. The more you layer it, the lusher your eyelashes will look, without clumping. I’ve tested several mascaras this year, and so far this one’s a keeper.

Estée Lauder Advanced Time Zone Day Cream ($65) has the silky signature look and feel of all Estée Lauder products. Whereas I don’t believe in miracle creams, it feels nourishing without being too heavy, and diffuses the appearance of fine lines. SPF 15 protects skin from harmful rays.

Goody Quik Style Paddle Brush ($11.99) is a time saver, when brushing my own hair, or my kids’ long locks. While it’s not a substitute for blow drying hair, especially in cold weather, it certainly cuts down the time spent styling. It’s my number one brush, along with any of the Goody Ouchless collection.

Avon Footworks Holiday Pedicure Collection ($14.99) is a steal, and contains everything you’ll need to pamper your feet or share a pedicure session with your daughter. It also makes for a great gift.
