‘Tis the season to channel your inner Cleopatra, so dare to get creative with your jewelry to enhance the pieces that are probably already a part of your summer trousseau.

Eclectic Edge
“Lately, we have been seeing so many ladies wearing cool piles of bracelets on one wrist, and mixing sparkles, diamonds, mantra beads, and Indian string bracelets all together, which gives expression to so many different types of looks, be they casual or edgy,” says Michelle. “We’ve seen this trend on some extremely hip girls in Paris, and we just love it. You can try this by mixing any set of bangles with elements like tassels, brightly colored strings, and pretty much anything else that inspires you. You can even ask one of your kids to make string bracelets and mix those in, too.”

Foolproof
With so many different types of jewelry out there, sometimes it’s hard to not overthink the whole thing. It helps to remember the elemental key pieces that make styling effortless, the “secret weapons” that can punctuate your overall look in just the right way. “A pair of hoop earrings, for example, usually does the trick for a bit of subtle flirtation, as does a long pendant necklace to create an air of elegance. An extra large cuff or a turquoise cocktail ring always exudes a sense of boldness, while wrap bracelets and bangles consistently evoke a sort of gypsy chic,” Michelle explains. So, identify these key pieces in your jewelery arsenal and turn to them when you find yourself at an accessorizing loss.

Metal Head
During these challenging economic times most people are on a budget, so details such as accessories can sometimes feel like unnecessary luxuries. But style need not be compromised just because times are tough. If you are keen on jazzing up your wardrobe without spending a fortune, Michelle suggests that you simply look at your jewelry collection with new eyes and try to assess which items can be revived. “See what you are intuitively drawn to—maybe it’s an antique pendant that you hang on a silk thread, or two totally different rings that you decide to wear stacked,” she says, adding, “The idea is to get creative and think of what you can add to what you already have to give it a fresh twist.”

Strive to Revive
Women used to have so many rules about when to wear gold versus silver, but right now those rules are obsolete, and we feel that all the metals can be worn with just about any color. Experimenting with metals is a great way to start the accessorizing process, and a guaranteed way to amp up the goddess factor. “Don’t fixate on having to choose silver versus gold—it’s really about enhancing the look with a hit of shimmer and shine,” says Michelle. “Weigh that against what you feel like wearing, what you personally think looks better, and whatever evokes the most glamorous version of yourself at any given moment.”
