3. Go to the Breadfruit Festival in Jamaica
The first breadfruit plants came to Jamaica in 1793 and rapidly became a staple of the Jamaican diet. The inaugural Jamaican Breadfruit Festival was held in Jeffrey Town, St. Mary, Jamaica. Jamaican breadfruit can be prepared in a wide variety of recipes ranging from roast breadfruit to breadfruit cake recipes, breadfruit pudding recipes, cookies, muffins and even a popular punch recipe made from the ripe Jamaican breadfruit. The festival is a popular way to introduce the traditional Jamaican diet to a new group of fans.
