6. Fewer C-sections
Studies have shown that the use of a Doula decreases the risk of having a cesarean birth. Survey data from 2,400 women shows that “Doula support was associated with a nearly 60% reduction in odds of cesarean delivery and 80% lower odds of nonindicated cesarean delivery, compared with not having doula support.” That said, it’s important to note that a doula’s job is NOT to ensure you deliver naturally, but to ensure you have a positive and safe birth experience.
