The company’s clever television commercials pair a successful English speaker who has taken the company’s courses, with a speaker whose English is still rudimentary due to less effective learning techniques. In my favorite commercial, the dark-haired dunce claims to be learning English by labeling food. A roast pollo wears a “chicken” label and a green head of repollo is proudly proclaimed to be “rechicken.” Needless to say, “Repollo, rechicken” is a meme in our household.
