10 of the Best Ghost Towns of the West

10 Big Things in Texas & How They Got There-Photo11HOW I GOT THERE
As a continuing part of the Toyota Sienna Diaries, I was able to check out some of these great ghost towns in a 2014 Sienna Limited minivan. Being in remote areas with unpredictable terrain I was glad to have access to some of this vehicle’s great features. In Nevada I ran into winter weather and had no idea the vehicle was equipped with a rain detection sensor. I thought it was merely that standard intermittent setting when I realized the wipers sped up and slowed down according to how much moisture was hitting the windshield.

The handling of the vehicle was amazing. I wasn’t worried during the heavy winds I encountered on some of these routes. I never feared that the vehicle would topple over or leave me stranded somewhere out in the desert. And again I was thankful for the miles left until empty indicator, especially while venturing out into unknown territory. I’m off onto my next adventure and will keep you posted on new features I’ve discovered.
