Of course, you want to know if your child will be dependent on ADHD medications for children forever. There is no way to tell, and in the end it will be his or her decision when he turns 18. I can tell you that people diagnosed with ADHD can certainly become successful adults and there is rarely a time in life that is so rigid and structured as our years in formal schooling. Few adults need to ask permission for a restroom break. In fact, adults with ADHD are known for being charismatic and able to multi-task. Most develop skills to become successful despite their diagnosis…or perhaps they are successful because of theirdiagnosis.
