1. This year is the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Puebla. In honor of the occasion, Puebla is celebrating big time with a number of concerts and other special events to encourage tourism, including their first international festival celebrating the gastronomy of Puebla. Thanks for publishing this article, Monica. I have found that most Americans and many Mexican Americans do not know the meaning of the 5 de mayo celebration. For them, it is a day to drink and party (kind of like another St. Pattrick’s day, but a Latino one). These are very interesting facts about that day. Gracias!
