3. LESS REALLY IS MORE
There’s nothing wrong with being poor. My mom doesn’t particularly like to hear me say that, but then I always remind her she is the one that taught me that lesson. We were never ashamed of our minimal resources. We embraced them. A quarter for our allowance was plenty. It meant we could buy a new toy or some candy at the grocery store. That was it. There was nothing else to it. Of course, now as an adult myself I know it’s not that simple. But as I tell my mother, I don’t want to be poor forever, but when we do have to struggle it’s nice to know we know how.
